Houdini based Building Tool For UE

As the title says, this is a tool we've created in houdini to make buildings quickly to populate a full city for a side project we work on.

The tool is based on sets of assets : Walls, Cornices, Fences, pillars and Extra (to add various props or buildings extentions that doesn't fit in the sets). The tool will scan specifically named folders to differenciate each sets.

To create a building, a curve is drawn on a grid to shape the first floor, then upper floors can be added. They can be duplicated or edited separately by clamping the curve start and end point position, or extruding the walls.

To modify the building appearence, props like fences or cornices can be added, their disposition can be also modified to create balconies supported by pillars etc...

Each prop's texture have 4 variations fit in a 2K atlas to break any repetitions.

Once the building is satisfyingly tweaked, the user can bake it into a blueprint, composed of several instanced mesh, to be as light as it can be.
